Art Class: First Tuesday every month 1 @ Cypress Grove Nature Park

Art is is open to the public and will occur once a month on a Tuesday.

Hideaway in History Class: No history classes this month due to Spring Break

Field Trips:

Adventure Science Center in Nashville: Rescheduled from Feb for March 16 @ 10:30 AM those previously signed up got a group discount. Others are welcome to join us but will have to pay general admission at the door

West TN Department of Ag. museum: Ledbetter Rd Milan: Friday March 20 @ 10:30AM (Free Admission) We will tour the Jackson Recycling Center. This trip is open to Spark Joy and Ridgecrest members ONLY. This trip is not open to the public. Parents MUST be on time! This trip is free

Agricultural Museum of West TN: Fri March 20

Free admission open to Spark Joy and Ridgecrest first. I will open this to the public after confirmed headcount from our organizations.

Music Class: North Park Studio of the Arts

Last Wednesday of every month at noon. $10/child paid directly to the studio

Science Class: Mar 6 and Mar 13: Science classes are held at Beech Bluff Rec Center. which is located in the former Elem. School 10AM - 2PM

Mar 9 topic: Flight Rockets, helicopters, and drones We will explore and play with various toys including flying drones and launching rockets to learn physics principles. Middle and high school students will launch a real model rocket. Elementary and preK will launch a battery operated non-flammable rocket. This will be a fun and educational opportunity to explore physics.

March 13 topic: Simple Machines We will explore and play with various toys to learn physics principles related to simple machines. Each student will This will be a fun and educational opportunity to explore physics. Students will have an opportunity to fly a drone and a mini helicopter.

Free Forest School Announcements: FFS is an all season program. However, we do cancel if serious adverse weather conditions are present such as ice, hail, freezing rain, extreme cold etc. Please be sure to watch the group chat for weather related announcements. If the weather is good enough for hiking we will go out! We do often modify winter lessons. Until further notice book/snack/craft are not occurring. We are only nature walking. If we have a reasonably nice day, we may do some knot tying this month.

Chess club: Last Saturday of every month at Jackson Main Library just after Pokemon trading time

Book Club: Meets 11:30 AM at Jackson main library 433 E. Lafayette st. one Wednesday a month. Please check our calendar as dates are dependent on library program room availability.

Volunteers needed: RIFA Canned Good Delivery & Spring Veggies Throughout the winter months Rifa will deliver canned goods one Monday every other month to senior citizens in need. In Spring we delivery veggies one Wednesday every month. Reach out to us to sign up for this important community service project.

Community Garden: We will begin planting the community garden as soon as the last frost date is announced by Department of Agriculture. This garden supports Rifa's soup kitchen.

MD Anderson Planetarium

Free shows every Friday and Saturday when the University at Lambuth is open.

Henderson Elite: Give your kids confidence, give them motivation, give them strength to stand up for themselves! We offer all of that right here! We have seen kids come in so shy and scared and grow into brave and confidence people! Kids deserve to have their own confidence! Come sign up! Boxing, gymnastics, and archery!

Archery is $150 for the season. That includes a team shirt. Ages 5 and up. Starting March. We practice every Thursday 5:30-7:00 at Chickasaw state park. We will learn the basics and fundamentals of handling and shooting a bow. And learning to aim at targets. We will do awards at the end and compete within the team.
